Plan of Salvation
The Question
The single most important question in life: If you died tonight are you 100% certain that you would spend eternity in Heaven?
You can know: Did you realize that you can know with 100% certainty that you will go to Heaven when you die?
For years I was unsure and wondered where I would spend eternity, Heaven or Hell. Then someone shared a scripture from the Bible with me.
1 John 5:13 - "These things I have written to you who believe in the name of the Son of God, that you may know that you have eternal life,"
Because of God's plan of salvation through His Son Jesus Christ, and my acceptance of this salvation, today I know 100% that I will spend eternity in Heaven.
The Plan of Salvation
We are ALL sinners : Romans 3:23 - "For all have sinned, and come short of the glory of God."
This scripture says that no one is without sin. Sin means to miss the mark of perfection, to break God's Law. When you break one of God's Laws then you have broken them all.
The Penalty for Sin
Romans 6:23 - "For the wages of sin is death; but the gift of God is eternal life through Christ Jesus our Lord."
Because of Adam's original sin in the Garden of Eden we must all experience a physical death. However, Romans 6:23 refers to the second death defined in Revelation 20:14-15.
"Then Death and Hades were cast into the lake of fire. This is the second death. And everyone not found written in the Book of Life was cast into the lake of fire."
God's Provision for Sin
Romans 5:8 - "But God demonstrates His own love toward us, in that while we were still sinners, Christ died for us."
God loves us ALL, each and every one, even though we are sinners. He has shown us this love by sending His own Son, Jesus Christ, to die on the cross as payment for our sins. For without the shedding of blood there is no remission of sin. Jesus was the ultimate sacrifice. Through His death on the cross ALL of our sins have been paid for. BUT, that alone will not ensure that we will all spend eternity in Heaven. God's plan requires action, a decision, on our part. For you can not make someone love you, love has to be received and given freely in return.
The Decision
Romans 10:13 - "For whoever calls on the name of the Lord shall be saved."
That's it! You have to realize your sinful state, confess you are a sinner, and ask to receive God's gift of salvation through Jesus.
Romans 10:9 states "that if you confess with your mouth the Lord Jesus and believe in your heart that God has raised Him from the dead, you will be saved."
The Sinner's Prayer
Dear God, I know that I am a sinner. I believe that You sent Your Son Jesus to die for my sins and that He was resurrected and lives. I want to receive Jesus into my heart as my personal Savior. Amen.
Follow-up
We are commanded as our first act of obedience, and to symbolize the washing away of sin, to follow Jesus' example in baptism. This is also done to make our decision public. To speak with someone about taking this first step as a Christian please contact our church, it's staff, or one of our members.
